I used a resource calculator to figure out thebest trade ring we could establish. I think this might be it:
Aluminum, coal, furs, gems, gold, lead, iron, lumber, marble, oil, rubber and sugar. We would get asphalt, automobiles, construction, microchips, radiation cleanup, scholars, and steel as our bonus resources.
These are the benefits:

Soldier increase: 42.6%
Nuclear Weapons cost decrease: -20%
Infrastructure upkeep: -22.2%
Soldier cost decrease: $-6
Nuclear Weapons upkeep decrease: -20%
Population increase: 3%
Soldier upkeep cost: $-0.5

Aircraft cost decrease: -7.8%
Destroyer upkeep cost decrease: -30%
Purchase land area increase: 38%
Aircraft upkeep cost decrease: -25%
Submarine purchase cost decrease: -25%
Natural growth increase: x3
Aircraft limit increase: 10 units
Submarine upkeep cost decrease: -38%
Technology cost decrease: -13%
Cruise Missile cost decrease: -20%
Aircraft carrier purchase cost decrease: -33%

Do you have nayone in your circle who would fit in this trade ring? Do you want to move forward and try to complete it?

Dude, sorry. When I didn't hear from you in this thread I assumed you weren't interested. Both you and Inquisitor have sugar and he is already onboard.
If he finds a better trade circle or opts out, I am happy to add you. It'd be awesome if we had the right resources in our alliance to form our own trade circles. Luck of the draw, I guess.

You're free to drop me, Inq, if you want to pursue this ring.

Just an FYI, this is the worst (or second worst) trade set in CN.

We were trying to find something we could both do. I don't have time to do much with this and Vince was kind enough to look into one that could accommodate us both. Right now I have empty slots, so it was handy that it at least had some benefit for us.

Yeah, I know it is pretty sucky, but look at what we have to work with. I have oil and gems and Inquisitor has furs and sugar. We both have one full on wild card resource and one moderately useful resource. I think the chances that either one of us could land in a top tier trade circle are slim, and it would be out of good will, if it happened.Lavo wrote:Just an FYI, this is the worst (or second worst) trade set in CN.
I'd like to be able to trade within the alliance, if possible, and I think Kahn and Inquisitor were the only options. Sure, I'd prefer to be in a better ring, but I know this relaitonship will be stable, and a crappy trade ring is better than no trade ring at all.
By all means, however, if you can find a better trade ring, take it.

I have aluminum (aluminium) and fish. What should I do? I have no idea about this trade ring thing.

I'm already trading with you but not Vince (Ghozer). On a sidenote, what happened to his nation? He just dropped to last in our alliance ranking and he has no soldiers at all.

@Jericho78
Apparently he sent an aid package to Messiah. Not sure what about.

If you visit his nation page, there is a tab at the top that reveals all such transactions.

Vince wants to delete his nation and restart. He sold off his infrastructure and sent his cash, soldiers and tech to me. He thought he could restart right away, only discovering that he had to wait 10 days after he had an open aid transaction. Dolt.
He apparently feels that his poor resources will prevent him from entering a full trade circle. I suspect he will stay in the game. I told him I would aid him when he restarts. Hopefully, he won't lose too much growth in his strategy.

Yeah, yeah, I'll be stickin around. I had no idea aid packages prevented you from deleting, but anyway.
My resources suck. I'd only ever be the charity case in any trade circle, and that makes it difficult to find a circle. If I can get better resources, I might be able to start a circle that both Inquisitor and I could use and complete. Maybe even someone else here, too.
It will be about a week before I get restarted. Cross your fingers that I get good resources.

Yeah, restarting probably wasn't such a bad idea for you Vince, especially given that you never really grew much. Better resources go a long way to a better, faster growing nation. We'll have to see what we can sort out in the way of aid to your new nation when it gets started.

Since you're restarting, I hope you get marble and iron as your resources. Then you can help my trade circle at NV.

Marble and iron would be great. I hope so.
I am glad you think restarting might not be a bad idea, Kahn. I was wondering if I was being a baby about it and should tough it out. Of course, I am also the guy who restarts a game if it goes wrong early on. Why waste hours on a bad start, I reason?
Anyway.
