It's been a long, long time since we last updated on the progress of Blackwater Operations - you may not even remember much about it, it's been so long - but we're really happy to share that the Blackwater Operations demo has finally been fully remastered and released!
Led by our very own BlackDove since 2005, BWO has been the very definition of a slow burn project but one which puts the highest quality and standards at the heart of what it's trying to do. Packed full of incredibly detailed art and models, the long awaited demo should be a treat for any of our old FS2 players around the place.
If you're interested, head on over to the release thread on HLP and take a look! The team would really appreciate feedback from anyone who plays! If you need a reminder of what the mod is to be about you can find that over on HLP too.
Happy flying!

Some of you may not know, many probably aren't interested, but I'm positing it as "General FS2" knowledge, for the most part because if this falls under anything, it's Vanilla FS2 heh.
During the last year since I joined the BlackWater team we've made heavy progress, and are currently beta testing the final chapter for the campaign. Meanwhile, all of the models are being updated to HTL status, considering BlackWater was supposed to be for FS2 vanilla, just simply one of the reasons why it's taking so long.
We're not releasing any of the newly modified ships screenshots yet, however we are releasing shots of the main vessel the campaign mostly revolves around.
First, here is a render that was made eons ago (three years probably).

...and this is how it appears in-game today (for the most part):

Hope you enjoy it.

The latest Freespace 2 Open build, v3.6.5, has now been released. You can all grab the build installer from here: Freespace 2 Open v3.6.5 Installer
Amongst the latest features completed by the build is a brand new pilot code that should eliminate the techroom bugs, the ability to make custom wing names, IBX caching for models, and OGG support.
For those of you who wish to upgrade manually without using the installer, all files that you need can be found over at HLP.
