Right then...
Obviously you all know we're aiming for +100 UNBUFFED Fire res.
If you are not +100 and someone else is, we will be turning you away (no matter who you are).
Now that we got that outta the way; here is a small list of things we might consider 'needed' (Further down the list = less nessicary, but still helpful!)
20x
Greater Fire Protection Potions
20xHeavy Runecloth Bandages(Possibly many more)
20xNight Dragon's Breath
20xWhipper Root Tubers
1xCerebral Cortex Compound
1xR.O.I.D.S
1xLung Juice Cocktail
20xWindblossom Berries
20xGordok Green Grog
1xThornling Seed
20xGreater Arcane Elixir
20xElixir of the Sages
20xElixir of the Mongoose
20xElemental Sharpening Stone
20xMasterwork Target Dummy
1xFlask of Distilled Wisdom
1xFlask of Supreme Power
1xFlask of the Titans
10xMighty Rage Potions!
Several xWinterfall Firewater's
+anything else you can think of (please feel free to add to this)
We have lots of friends on bladefist, ask them!
Ragnaros is a tough cookie, we're GOING to crack him, maybe not saturday, but we WILL crack him.
This is our first attempt to familiarise people with the tactics for Ragnaros.
That doesn't mean we can't kill him this time around.
On the day we will go over the fight a few times, once or twice before summonging and then twice after summoning THEN we will start using potions/flaskes etc.
Rather than going into further detail myself, I will hand you over to this very well laid out and detailed guide.
It's VERY close to the tactics we will be using, so PLEASE READ OVER IT!

I think Blessed Sunfruit juice and Blessed Sunfruit should also work (available from AD vendors @ revered). And of course the DM north buffs, but I doubt these will be any good since we wait for the raid to commence for ages.

here an idea for mages. i dont know wheter it works, but it is for sure worth a try. on the short attempt on raga, last thursday, i took more dmg from the fall after his blast, than actual fire dmg. so maybe we should collect some light feathers for the spell "slow fall" to reduce our fall dmg.
problem is that, if we get thrown high into the air, we will slowly float downward and end up somewhere in the cave of raga. at least we would be able to keep up dps during floating, but it will look very funny with 5 mages somewhere in the air

Added Gordok Green Grog, i use it on bosses in MC. Good to get if you happen to be doing any tribute runs.

What i dont understand is why noone refers to the 81fire res buff from the enterence to UBRS/LBRS (it would take a priest 5 min to buff his party - if we split up 4*10 or just on the key ppl we could do it in notime)
IF fire res now is that important...

not sure if it is the same on bladefist, might be worth checking up before so we don't end up with a ban or something.

Don't go using that fire res exploit from BRS please. Exploiting = bad mmkay.

I dont think so...
If it takes the guild 30 min to get another FREE 81 Fire res (no alch req - no money wasted... ) / atempt I still think its worth it... But then again I have always been a bit strange.
An Exploit
Blizzard grow up... Calling that an exploit is lame...

myself and a few other people ticketed GMs wondering if this was an exploit, we all got messages back saying it WASNT. Theres screenshots to proove it..SSX-MS wrote:Don't go using that fire res exploit from BRS please. Exploiting = bad mmkay.
Apparently GM answers are inconsistant about this two, where 1 or 2 have said it is..the majority saying it isnt

Domo only sits in MC for 30 minutes at ragnaros' spawn point, after that he returns and you have to fight him again (for no loot, no less), once Ragnaros is spawned, he will only stand at his position for two hours,
(He will not despawn in combat) then he will despawn.
The extra fire res will be acquired on runs where we are much more likely to kill him.

Ah well. If some GMs say it is an exploit and some Gms say it isn't. They can't really go blaming people for doing it if they can't give a straight answer lol.

Hi guys,
I'm the GM from STNY (from US Mannoroth). When we were working on learning Rag, we focused on the smaller aspects of the fight before looking at the fight as a whole. Our first focus was to ensure we had the right amount of DPS being done to consistantly get him down into the 40%-50% health range pre-submerge. This is the bare minimum and the further you get him down in stage one, the less of an impact mistakes on the Sons will have.
After we had the part down, we started working on our Son strategy. In my opinion, this is the tricky part of the fight as it is the most frantic. I'd recommend on focusing your efforts on getting the Sons down within the alloted 90 seconds. After you successfully get them all killed in 90 seconds, start working towards the point where you can do it with less than 10 deaths.
If you can consistantly DPS him enough so he's more than half dead before the Sons and most of your raid is alive after the Sons, you'll be sitting pretty for the fight. Once you actually get to that point, if you add the buffs you've been discussing it should give you enough of a boost that you down the big guy.

We basically focused the other way around (similarly disecting the fight, though);
Survival (we were under-geared when we first got there, our armour has improved though).
Sons.
And now we have mastered both of those, I will draw the focus towards DPS

Not really.
Stuff like this should be considered for any 'big boss'
