Yes I know it's early, but it has been confirmed that the Witcher 3 will be released in 2014 for PS4 and that is not a typo :D

I'm just going to keep the first post up to date by edits :D

- The Witcher 3 (PS4) it got delayed for a year
- Thief (PC, PS4 & next gen Xbox)

Already??? And I thought MS had premature tendencies :D

Not even going to start thinking about 2014 yet lol. Witcher 3 will be a must buy for me, but odds are I'll get the PC version. Beyond that, come back in six months!

The Witcher 3 will be GOTY next year and Cyberpunk the year after that too I'm sure, CDPR fanboy speaking :p. I've no idea what other titles we'll see in 2014/15 off the top of my head but since this will be a multi-platform release TW3 will be a PC purchase for me too.

I'll probably look into buying a PS4 but it'd just be for the exclusives it'll offer, not for games like TW3 which I can play on my PC. Same as I bought the PS3 for. Unless something like The Last Guardian, Versus or new MGS launch with it I'd be waiting for a price cut too most likely so it'd be a while before I got one myself. Doubt I'd get one for launch as it wouldn't be worth it just for a few launch exclusives. Saying this I would want to know whether some of these features like the real name ID are mandatory or optional first to decide whether I bought one at all, or played it offline or w/e. Sony are riding this bandwagon though by the looks of the PS4's focus, it looks more like a social networking machine than a gaming console.

Since PS4 is in fact a pc... I suspect the modding community will try to enable PS4 games on the PC

If they can, then I have no reason to have a PS4 :)

is there a new dishonored on the way in 2014? I didn't read anything about that. Maybe I misinterpreted your post :)

Was meaning awesome stealth games ;)
Haven't had many of those in a long time. First we get Dishonored and now we're finally getting the new Thief game next year as well. Couldn't get any better for the stealth genre really.
Thief was most definitely one of the major influences on Dishonored so if if you like one you should like the other I'd say. Lets just hope they haven't dumbed shit down or anything otherwise it may go the same way as Splinter Cell did with Conviction and Hitman unfortunately did with Absolution too. Haven't read any details from this GI article yet though other than seeing the pics hehe.
If they keep it true to the series I don't even need to know what other games are releasing in 2014, The Witcher 3 and Thief will, without a doubt, be 2 of the best games releasing next year and will be my first 2 most likely candidates for GOTY. 2014 should be amazing just for these 2 releases alone imo. Calling it now as early as that may be.

Still a long time to wait for either of those but we've still got plenty of awesome looking games set for release this year too so it shouldn't feel too long!

Gonna be good.

True, true. Be a while before we get to see any proper gameplay though.
Still, this'll be one of the main titles to look out for next year along with TW3 I would think. They did a great job with DE:HR too so I have faith in them not to <censored> this up :)

There will be no other titles to look out for next year. Witcher 3 will set the bar too high ;)

No doubt it will but Thief 4 could be right along side it if done right. Without games like Thief and the old Hitman games etc Dishonored would probably never have existed. At least not in the same form it came to be in.
Have you ever played a Thief game? :)

Actually, no. I considered picking one up a few years ago, but never got to it. Thief 4 will be my first :)

Also, I was just trolling you :p

Tis cool, I know hehe ;)
Witcher 3 is pretty much a guarantee really. If there is one developer I have 100% faith in to deliver what they set out to it is CDPR. I'm certain they won't disappoint us with TW3 which is what gets me even the more excited haha :D
The potential is there for Thief 4 too but I'll still be keeping my fingers crossed on that one just incase. DE:HR was really great (besides the boss fights which they didn't do themselves) so this gives me some confidence at least, but there's still a tiny worry that it could still turn out like Hitman and Splinter Cell. Thankfully Dishonored was very highly received when it released too so it goes to show games like that can still exist and do well today without going down the same path as the other 2. Hopefully that is something they will take on board and not try to change it too much just to appeal to more folk of today.

Now that this years E3 is over with I'm sure we've all got our eyes on several next-gen games scheduled for release next year. The Division? Mirror's Edge 2? Destiny? etc. etc. Lots to pick from so lets get this thread going!
Like the 2013 thread let's see what games you're looking forward to for 2014 starting with your most anticipated. My top 5 are in order (pretty much) but the titles below those are a bit jumbled up in places. I will change the order of those as we draw closer to the end of the year and we've seen more from them.

Here's my list:
Assassin's Creed Unity
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Watch Dogs
WildStar
South Park: The Stick of Truth
The Evil Within
The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)
Grand Theft Auto V (Buying for PC in Jan)
Far Cry 4
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Driveclub (PS4)
Alien: Isolation
Transistor
Infamous: Second Son (PS4)
Final Fantasy X HD (PS3)
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (PS4)
CounterSpy (PS4)
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Lords of the Fallen
Child of Light
Fable Anniversary
The Witness
The Sims 4
Claire
Valiant Hearts: The Great War
Thief
Destiny (PS4)
Resident Evil 4 HD
The Walking Dead Season 2 (Continued)
The Wolf Among Us (Continued)
Titanfall
Banished
Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines (Vita)
Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD
Evolve
Survarium
Helldivers (PS4)
Deep Down (PS4)
+Kickstarter releases

May have forgotten some but I can edit those in later if needed, plus any others which get announced.
How about you guys? :)

And where is Elder Scrolls Online?

It has been moved up to 2014.

EUIV is still on this side of the new year. Yay!

I haven't given ESO much attention tbh with you, but since I came across WildStar I haven't really looked at any other upcoming MMOs besides FFXIV. Might keep an eye on that as well though :)

That's quite ambitious given I've read a lot about how unfinished Thief is :blank:

I may still play this on the PS4 first unless I have upgraded by the time of its release (and buy the PC version later when I can run it at its full potential) but this is fantastic news. This was by far one of the best demos of E3 imo :D

Getting serious Ico vibes from this which it seems everyone else did as well after reading around lol. Beautiful looking game and exclusive to the PS4 too. Shame it's not a launch title!
I'd say this along with Dragon Age: Inquisition were my highlights/surprises from the two conferences today.

In the last few weeks DA:I has gone from a game I was hesitant about and not particularly following closely to something I'm actually quite excited to see more of. They do seem to have listened to the criticism they received from DA2 in which the problems I had with that game are not present here. Seems more like they've gone back and looked at what made Origins so great and how they can expand upon that.
I know BioWare gets a lot of stick from time to time and as much as I've defended them in the past they're not faultless. I really do hope they deliver with this though and start to win people over again. Certainly looks and sounds impressive from the bits we've been shown so far so I'm willing to give them that chance to shine again. Needless to say this game is definitely on my radar now. Some of those locations look absolutely amazing on Frostbite 3 too :)
