A DAY AT THE RACES! (Announcement!)

KK! HERE WE GO!

SSX GNAKEDGNOME RACE!
No working for welfare purps!
No major gold intake!
No epic drops!
But a bit of idiotic fun for all!

WHAT RACE?
Gnome.

WHAT CLASS?
Anything but lock.

WHAT EQUIPMENT?
Naked, except for weapon.

FUNDING.
There will be no funding in the first race.
Before the second race, a random number (/roll) will determine how much silver your main can mail your racer to fund him/her with.
You can purchase anything you like with it (eg potions), and you can even upgrade your weapon if you like.
But remember, no armor (this includes rings, necklaces, etc...).
Your only income on this racer is the weekly funding by your main and anything you may collect and sell as a drop during the race, you can use it or save it up for later.

RULES.
Make gnome, fund gnome, buy stuff, get naked.
Do NOT participate in any quests in the area, nor make ANY kills.
If you are killed by a mob while running about randomly waiting for the start, you may not fight back, you must die, corpserun and rez.
Wait for the starter bell.
Run.
If you die, you gotta corpserun and rez.
You may NOT ask other players near your corpse to rez you, heal you, or buff you.
BUT...
If another player decides ON HIS/HER OWN to be generous with a buff a heal or a rez, you may accept it (and remember to say thanks before you sprint off).
You may NOT use any flight points.
First player to reach destination is declared the winner.

FIGHTING ALONG THE WAY.
You can use any spells, stealth, weapon combos, etc that your class naturally posesses (thus, no locks, too much power).

SKILLING UP
Inevitably, some will gain a level or so. Post race 2, when money starts coming in from your main, if the race starts or ends at a town/city with a trainer for your class in it, you may train, but are limited to the funding you have.

THE PRIZE
Each participating loser will mail the winner 1g, so its almost like running a daily. At the successful win, please tell everyone where to mail the stakes (it can not be to the racer toon).

FOR FUN AND NOTORIETY
Create a macro - 'Make way for the SSX Naked Gnome Race!'
Spam your macro when you run by any other players.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE A RACE DAY?
Well, you can always run the race on your own (with the same rules), or perhaps someone's main would be kind enough to do a summon.
But, try to chat with everyone and arrange getting there before the start time of the next race.

THE FIRST OFFICIAL SSX NAKED GNOME RACE

DAY: Friday, July 11th (pre-raiding)

TIME: 7:15pm Eastern

STARTING GATE: Coldridge Valley (Gnome home)

FINISH LINE: The Inn at Thelsamar

GUESSTIMATED RUN TIME: 20-30 minutes

SPECIAL RULES: As this is the first of the Naked Gnome races, there will be no local and available mailbox, therefore there will be no way of funding your racer - he/she must race in poverty. The next race will begin at the Thelsamar Inn (complete with mailbox), so funding of your racer by your main will begin in race 2.

The schedule isn't set, perhaps next race could be on a Friday at 7:30pm (maybe we can even shift the first one to tomorrow if I can get a hold of enough people later tonight).

Aww...I even have a gnaked level 1 gnome rogue shivering in her skivvies in Coldridge...we'll just have to give it a try again, once more ppl are back in WoW. Summertime always tends to be slow...

I must apologize for not being on time Saturday night The kids were staying up later than normal, and by the time we got the last one all tucked in, it was well past 8:30pm...was hoping you'd still be around, but alas, 'twas not to be.
