Here is a list of the best resource combos in the game, also known as trade rings. These all assume that you already have a Harbor, and your last trade slot. For your convenience, I have named the types in a very original fashion. If you have the resources to do so, try to get a Type A setup. It is definitely the best. Types B and C are variants of A. If you're not one of the lucky ones, then compare the ones that have your resources and decide which one you would prefer.

Type A
Water, Wheat, Aluminum, Lumber, Marble, Iron, Fish, Cattle, Sugar, Pigs, Spices, Gems
Bonus: Beer, Construction, Fast Food
Pop/Infra (Most Favorable Set)

Yeah, I think that's about the best you can do with those fantastic resources. As for finding people to trade with, the best way to do it is just to use the ingame search function for resources, and spam people on your color with the resources you need.

You can also try to see if you can start up or join a trade ring here in the trade forum.

aye, ive got posts up on the forums. ill see if anyone bites. is it worth sticking to team color? i know its worth +1 hapiness (does that stack through the ring?), should i accept other colors or change teams to make things fit.

Stick to your team color if at all possible, the +5 Happiness for 5 in-team trades is worth a pretty penny in taxes.

You're Blue, yes? It is very possible to get all trades in-color in Blue. Just be patient.
