Dolgan from Penumbra set up a joint SSX/Penumbra chat channel.

This is an in-game chat channel, like kin chat.
You'll have to join it manually though:

Right click on the "general" tab of your chat window, select "change filters" and "user chat 1."

at the chat prompt, type: (without the quotes)
"/joinchannel SSX-Penumbra"

You should get the following message:
You joined room 'SSX-Penumbra' (UserChat1).

(*If you already have a userchat channel assigned, it'll say "UserChat2" on up.)

type /1 to use this channel.

I get the message "You can't create the room 'SSX-Penumbra'"

Nevermind I am an idiot, I figured it out :P

Semi-off topic...can someone append -Pen to my user name, please? Or can I do that myself?

The password room somehow messed up so it is just /joinchannel SSX-Penumbra
