Must say it hasn't really caught my eye much, since I still have the intricacies of GTA4 to go through (like Unique Stunts etc), and there are so many RPGs and other games coming up/out that I want to try.

I have yet to play Saints Row 1 either, even though I enjoyed the demo. That's one I need to get at some point, must be dirt cheap now.

I've been debating it. Sort of want to know how my character will get revenge.

Well im not gonna say much cause I dont want to ruin it for those who havent played SR1.

Decided I'm going to buy Saints Row 1 with my next batch of 360 games, since it's only 11 on Amazon. Not sure when that will be though - most likely when The Last Remnant hits. There are games I want, but I've been waiting for them to come down in price (FIFA 09 and TFU mainly) before forking over the money for them.

Either way, if I enjoy the first it is very likely I'll get this when I'm done with it. I'll update as and when I get the game :)

I never played SR1 so i've not really given the second one a look if i'm honest. I'd be interested to know how you guys find it though and how it compares to GTA4 as well since they seem quite similar (?). GTA4 was fantastic in every way for me, only just getting around to trying the MP out on it but that's been great fun as well so far.
Ava's just nipped out to get Fable 2 and Far Cry 2 just now and i've got Fallout 3 preordered too, can only really afford to get those for now but i may end up getting this when it comes down in price too if it's worth it. There's too many games to choose!, i really want Dead Space (and a few others) as well heh.

Just read this. Makes some very good points about GTA4, and really makes me want to try Saints Row more. My only major gripe with GTA4 is this 'strive for realism'. Cars are less fun to drive, radio is less funny aside from very specific segments, the environment loses a lot of the unique fun touches by being so realistic (Ammunation anyone?).

From the look of that article, Saints Row 2 is very much what Vice City was, but a little bit better. A good game, with a loose base in realism, but far more focused on letting the player have fun than letting them have an incredibly realistic experience.

I am intrigued. I need to get Saints Row 1 soon.

I look at the SR franchise as a test bed of things that GTA SHOULD of done. GTA 4 was a complete pile of tedium. I don't like that. I disliked GTA 4 so much when I played it, I returned it a day later in favor of something I DID like to play.

Here is a review from one of the harshest critics ever. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... ints-Row-2

The only thing that holds this game down is the game freezing bug that Volition is currently working on fixing. (We Freespacers know that will take the better part of 10 years to fix but hey, at least they are trying...)
