So, I rented this on Gamefly, and decided to keep it. Pretty sweet aerial combat, very pretty.

I know Fen tried to get me to play this morning, but I was on baby duty, but it seems worth a rental, some Freespace-like gameplay at times, which is neat.

I got the demo a while back. My first impression was that it wasn't so great, but that's probably because I didn't even have a chance to really master the controls in that short time. I'll have to rent it and give it a fair chance.

The game is surprisingly deep. I love the multiplayer aspects to the game but it really could of used co-op for the campaign. But they are releasing co-op missions over time, so you can play some of those cool ass missions with a buddy. :)

Oh? I have not even LOOKED at the downloadable content, that sounds pretty awesome, a REAL wingman would be great :)

I am "stuck" on the flying fortress assault mission, can't quite survive it, I can get the 4 support flyers down, but inevitably one of the fighters shoots me down just afterwards. Tried different planes, the Su-something (what theStrigon wing is flying) so far has been the best, with the Tomcat being second, buit still not quite enough ooomph to get the job done.

Have you beat the game, Fen?

On my first run through I used a SU-33 with RCL's. The rockets work GREAT on the flying carriers but not so much on the fighters for obvious reasons. When you start off the mission, aim at the carrier just to the right of the main carrier and fire your rockets at its cockpit. the thing will fall faster than a sack of potatoes. The cock pit shots are what you are looking for but the Rockets have enough aoe on them that they can bring a carrier down in a short time regardless.

I just beat it yesterday after a break for a wek or so.

I didn't realize you could re-arm mid-mission, that helped. Fought all the enemy planes down first with the QAAMs then went with the rockets on the carriers.

Now I am on this big ground assault with tunnels and crap loads of things to kill :)

Liberation of Gracemaria? yeah thats my favorite mission. Just take a good plane cause the fun isn't over after you beat all the ground stuffs.

Oh and if you have the points. Download ALL the CFA 44 Nosferatu variants. The nossy is like having an 'i win' button in the campaign. It fires a ridiculous amount of missiles out at things. It's like having 12 XMA's fire out of you at once... or maybe 12 QAAMs.. It's scary.
