Just a quick FYI,
Bliz is trying to make it so more less raid minded guilds, who like to casual raid are no longer forced to hard core raid or pvp, if they don't like it.
Why do I say this?
Because some people don't like PVP at all, perhaps with one class but not another. Also not every guild wants to be the die hard raid loot is more important then anything else in your life RAWR guilds... hehe
In the past, you either had to hard core raid or pvp to get your loot up to snuff so you could at least progress to next level of play.
A lvl 70 in non-set blues and a lvl 70 in purples is like a lvl 60 in a lvl 70 dungeon. Bliz set it up to fail.
Since we are more a casual laid back (family) oriented guild, we seem to constantly be pressured to try and focus on one play-style or the other.
Luckily we are not the only ones who have been stuck in this predicament and Bliz is trying to address guild more like ours. Great timing too because I think we (as a guild) have come to a cross-roads of whats to be done next.
So what are they doing you might ask?
Bliz is going to keep upping Badge loot and introducing new dungeons and new daily quests to give us all more casual gear options.
They are also trying to introduce more hybrid gear for people who have alt play-styles (ie. ret pali, feral druid, disc priest, etc.).
Update: Bliz is addressing casual guilds and alt play-styles
