Hello All,
Well Just wanted to explain my reasons for my returned I know alot of you had questions when you saw Zepol join the guild.

Well my account was sold but I had another one stashed in just incase of times like these. Luckly my account was moved to another server so that freed up my original char's name.
So I started up a shammy and enjoying it. Not sure if I will be sticking around for long but I do know it might be for a while.

The reason why i had to plug out of RL and plug into the VW is becuase at this moment I am going threw a ruff time at work and even though I am still playing Paintball I havent been able to shoot anybody up for over a month now because I need to save up some more money and I noticed that PB costs about $50 bucks a month for me.
So there is that and there is something else that is alot more serious, my baby Tony has had an ear infection for about 2months straight now and in need of a surgery that will place tubs in his ears, this will releave him from any pain, and allow the infection to flow out properlly instead of just sitting there like standing water in a whole.
This has been really stressfull for me and the wife since the doc told us that he needs this surgery becuase if it continues the way it has he can lose about 40% of his hearing, and it also explains why he is now at 19months old with only two word in his vocabulary(ma and da) I almost had him say "i love you" but you can tell he tries but just doesnt have the enrgy too. The Doc explained that he feels like he is under water and who would want to talk under that state.
He constantly wakes up in the middle of the night crying in pain, I usually wake up and give him a little massage in the ears and that usually puts him back to sleep.
And unfotunally the insurance wants me and Illy to dish out $1600 for the fees that are not covered by them so we are short as it is, and now we have sold many of our things to be able to cover this expence.

So yea all this stress has been building up and I thought to my self the only way to relax is to stop thinking about it so i loaded up wow and started to quest away keeping my brain ocupied.

Thanks for hearing me out
Alan

Sorry about the baby alan...although you might want to consult the hospital legal team about what your insurance can and cannot do. No insurance can deny coverage just because they say so and no insurance want the kind of negative publicty when the case invoves a child. Your son had no prexisting conditions and if he's been covered all this time by your insurance then he should still be covered. Don't delay the surgery but talk to you pediatric surgen and she/he should be able to help you or at least point to the right case manger for you. The insurance might say that it's an elective surgery and they don't cover those blah blah blah, but from what I gather from what you wrote it doesn't sound elective. Most hearing loss is caused by recurrent ear infections and if he's been suffering for such a long time it's time to get tubes in. He'll feel much better and the tubes would probably work itself out by the time the ear infections don't bother him.

Hi Zep,

To put your mind at ease, it sounds like what your son has is Ottis Media. The canal behind the drum is filled with fluid and dampening hearing. Surgery is required but it is a very common condition. I had it myself, and when sitting in med classes covering it, the doc asked how many had had it - of approx 100 students, 25 hands went up. As with all surgery there is risk, but this is done so often (number one surgery on children) its is pretty much a bread and butter operation for the ear nose and throat guys. The success rate behind it is astounding.

Also, if treated by antibiotics and it doesn't clear up, surgery is required. Post the antibiotic treatment not working, this is not an 'elective' surgery, its pretty much necessary. I'd chat with an insurance specialist at the hospital to find out your best course of action.

Heres a simple link for basic info, but if you do an Ottis Media search you should find hundreds, if not thousands of references: http://havenproject.org/ottis-media.htm

Hope that helps kill a bit of the stress.

Oz

P.S. I'm running around in a shammy costume as well. Catch me on line and we can start a gang, maybe rough up some gnomes for their lunch money or something.

Thanks for advise guys I really need it, with the surgery approching this upcomming weekend I feel a little relief that there is so many positive responces.
I have an attorny looking into the case he says what weilli advises above is true but will take some time to create a case on it so he is reviewing our current insurance policy and will hopefully give us a responce by monday.
