I think this is one of my top 5 favorite Anime series ever. I just got done watching the last two episodes and I don't think they could of ended it more perfectly. I consider this anime in the "For advanced Anime fans only" category. This series isn't really something I would recommend to those just getting into Anime, nor is it something I would recommend to folks who are stuck on one particular type of genre, (unless this falls into said genre). But that being said, it really is a good Anime with compelling characters. The story has so many twists and turns that could leave one's head reeling for days, but in terms of realism it doesn't get any better than this.

Yeah it's not that kind of Anime bro. While there is fighting, it's done on a more human level, ie no draganbaaawl. and the fighting isn't anywhere near the premise of the story or the focus, so yeah it's likely not an Anime for you. :P

Sounds like something I'd enjoy.
Plot, character, development, solid execution.
Unless I'm assuming wrong
I'll give this a whirl.

I am a noob without a genre, and I dig it! I wouldn't know advanced anime when I see it... haha! I just know what I like.

Finished watching this a little over a week ago and adored it.
Stylish visuals, fantastic character personalities, really great setting, story and music that isn't afraid to be different.
Similar in style to Bebop but I'd say the way the series plays out is kinda like Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. Meaning that it's very character focused for one, Michiko & Hana/Hatchin (and the supporting characters) really do shine. The characters have their goal and the series is basically their road journey towards that end. Couldn't agree more with Fen about the ending. I know some people thought it could have been better, perhaps felt it was rushed or whatever but I thought they ended it very well.
Ultimately things like weren't so important and in the latter cases maybe best left unanswered, I prefer it that way. Also some people may class a few of the episodes as "filler" but that is complete rubbish imo. At the very least they served to develop the relationship between Michiko & Hatchin and this is what the series came down to for me, why I liked the ending and why I say about some things being unimportant. In the end it was the journey they went on together, the relationship which they built and was tested along the way and the life-long bond they had. This was all that really mattered.
Brilliant series overall and one of my absolute favourites. Can't recommend this show highly enough.
Shame to see this thread was so far back in the forum so I figured I'd post my thoughts. It deserves more attention

"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

I personally liked how they didn't address some issues. It makes it feel more real. Plus it allows to you to draw your own conclusions. This is in my top ten for favourite animes.

The great relationship between Michiko and Hatchin is what made the show for me. Had its slow moments but overall enjoyable
