Yeah good call BD. This Anime is totally up my alley. I want a Rideback now. Maybe one made by Harley Davidson. ;p

I like it. It's been very good so far, and I am enjoying it. Surprising, since it's about as different from 00 as you can get and it was my belief that my interest may be quite niche in some respects.

They need to release 04 already.

Yeah, the bastards are extra late with this one so far.

What do I pay them for...

Oh right.

I gotta say though, I haven't been this excited about a motorcycle mech since Genesis Climber Mospedia (or Robotech The New Generation to you noobs...) ;)

Good call on this one.

They did a damn good job at capturing tension and emotion, while throwing in just enough forshadowing to make it feel ominous. I like it.

It DOES suffer from a few well known cliches though. Main character is a natural at piloting a mech ect.. but it makes sense for the character at least.

Really liked Ep5.

Very well done, slow good pace. Somewhat on par with a Death Note episode that I liked.

Good director/editing skills.

I also have to say I like the way they're using the actual graphics now, since they are high quality and this is broadcast in native 1080p, to convey different aspects of mental states.

The running theme throughout the fourth and fifth episode was the fact that there's something off with Rin, something we don't know about from her past, and it's gently illustrated actually in the OP, and it has bugged me since the first episode.

Image

That girl is not the same girl featured throughout the episodes, and it can be clearly seen from just the features of the face. She slightly emerges during the evading scenes in 04 though, and is the subject of her reflection in 05.

At first I thought it was some poor writing in 04 the way she just decides "oh I'm gonna go play hero on my rideback lulz, i pwn j00". But if she is a little demented, oh, that's much better that there was no good reason for her to go for it.

Definitely interesting stuff as far as I go.

Man, they built up the tension in 6 and waited until the last 3 minutes to dispense with the kicking of ass... Damn cliffhangers!

Safe to say this one's got me hooked.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

First; Episode 7 was very, very, VERY good. I was wondering how they were going to move it from HighSchool playful racing and serious it the f11uck up. Very good contrast though, from how it starts nicely and where it goes, especially after 7.

Second; The full OP is very badass. Especially considering it comes in both English and Japanese flavor. I know Mell is a little rougher around the edges, considering she had a song in Black Lagoon, and it's one of the few that has the English words such as "shit" in it, which isn't normal. But this one is pretty great, because she really Engrishes it up for the entire song, and then in the end, the last line "But I want you... See you again", she sings in proper English.

I know it has a lot to do with the fact it's cross Jap/Eng, so it needs to fit both, and you can squeeze it better by using Engrish, because you don't have to rhyme properly if you're semi-skipping words. But even as a troll, it works great. After all, she is the Engrish queen.

I am not sure about episode 8. It kind of got all shojo on me with all the sparklies. Hope there isn't any more of that in future episodes.

I really liked it. It was a very nice veiled metaphor for dance, which in turn is a metaphor for sex.

If they started out in that style it would be one thing, but it feels like they threw that all in as an afterthought to fill in the blanks of the episode. Kind of like they were pulling a Naruto, with the extended bouts of nothing going on. It will be interesting to see what role "Goblin" plays in the grand scheme of things.

I don't think it was useless. It showed fairly clearly her progression from "I don't want to do this" mentality, to "Hells yeah I want to do this". And why too, which was fairly obvious.

I disagree. Flipping through the air and showing pretty sparklies for extended periods of time is just a way to fill in blanks spots. Lots of anime do this. There isn't any deeper meaning behind it. They didn't have anything meaningful to add, so they used that time with sillyness. That's fine and dandy. I just hope it isn't a sign of things.

And I disagree. The sparkles were pretty, and the idea was to make the whole thing appealing, graceful, and more than anything, special, which it is. The allusion went to dance, to her ballet experience, and how this is fifty times better. It was supposed to allude to the way people with superior reflexes view moments, and why those moments are worth striving for.

Just because you didn't see it, or didn't want to see it, doesn't mean it isn't meant to be there.

I'm all for the pretty sparkles.

I am all for the first time it happened, but I just feel it was excessive is all. I got the point the first time. I just felt that it slowed the pacing of the episode.

On that same note, I really dug how the CG water effects looked in comparison to the non CG stuff it was interacting with. It's hard to strike a good balance between CG and Cel Animation.

Yeah, the animation is really cool. I wonder if that's what cost them the 12 other episodes. I hope they extend it to 24 though.

Episode 10.. Um... Wow.

You expect something like that to happen but are never really prepared for it. 11 and 12 will likely be over the top due to the events in 10.

Wow..

So here we are at the end. Ep 11 set up for something big, and I assume it will be something huge.

My predictions, I think Rin will come up with some sort of Rideback Ballet team. ;p (hey considering the show, it's not unlikely...)
