So with Christmas just around the corner and only a few weeks left of 2014, which titles have made your top 10 list for the year?

My list:
  • 01: Dragon Age: Inquisition
    02. Far Cry 4
    03. The Last of Us Remastered
    04. The Wolf Among Us
    05. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
    06. South Park: The Stick of Truth
    07. The Walking Dead: Season 2
    08. inFamous: Second Son
    09. The Evil Within
    10. Watch Dogs

Notable mentions: MGSV:GZ, Driveclub, Wolfenstein The New Order, WildStar, Final Fantasy X HD & Assassin's Creed Unity.

I've still got several others to play like Alien: Isolation, first episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones & Tales from the Borderlands, Resident Evil 4 HD & Banished just to name a few so whilst some of those may have made the list, they obviously can't cos I haven't played em yet. If I wait until I've played every release I want to from this year then it won't get posted until well into 2015 in which case there's not much point in doing so... so, here's my list :p
Whilst I did really enjoy Unity and had it as one of my GOTY contenders throughout the year, there were just too many other games I've played this year which I felt should be higher than it for one reason or another, and there's only 10 spots... Story was kinda lackluster too unfortunately but despite that and the problems it launched with, it was still pretty decent.
I've still not finished DA:I but I feel I've spent enough time with it now, methinks it would have to take a sudden and unexpected dive to find itself in any other spot but GOTY. Absolutely fantastic.

How about the rest of you? :)

01: Dragon Age: Inquisition
02: Eve Online
03: Watch Dogs

I haven't played far cry 4 yet. I really enjoyed watchdogs I am currently enjoying dragon age massively.

I play EVE online the whole year trough so that's why they are on the map, also I didn't want to reward assassin's creed unity. They have not delivered as they should, the rampant bugs with both the game and all secondary plug ins, which leave me hanging completely and locking out content that I should have is just so bad. If I wouldn't have played eve online, I would have only put two games on my list

Understandable :)
Whilst it did deserve to get most of the backlash it did by launching in that kinda state (even though I encountered worse problems with Watch Dogs myself), I do still think there's a decent enough game in there as I say. Visually it looks gorgeous, and they'd made some nice improvements in other areas too but it was not the GOTY I was expecting/hoping it would be and they could have done so much more with the story. Still glad I played it, but I can't really justify putting it higher up my list. Hopefully they'll use that as a stepping stone towards making next years release phenomenal again (which I'm already really excited for, setting & location wise). Fingers crossed :)

the endless tie ins that still aren't working properly (cfr. Social Clubs, Nomad crashing at startup, acinitiates) and the fact that if you want to clear the whole game you NEED access to all of those makes it a shitty game for a too big a price

I need to try and remember what games I've played first

All blurring into one big year for me these days!

Divinity:Original Sin was a great cRPG with a solid story. But where's the mention of South Park:TSOT? How can that game be overlooked? Solid gameplay, good story, great laughs...

Sunless Sea is another good game even if it's very hard to manage resources.

South Park is on my top 10 list for the year at least. Wouldn't put it as my GOTY as there has been too much other competition but I loved it all the same :)

Divinity: Original Sin hasn't received a daily yet, right? at least I haven't noticed one. If it gets a good deal during this Steam sale I'll probably grab it as I keep seeing it mentioned and have never really given it much attention tbh. I have however just spent 120hrs with DA:I though so it may be a while before I jump into another RPG.

Going to unsticky the 2014 thread now that we're into the new year.
Still feel free to come along and share a list of your top games for the year/personal recommendations btw. Might give some of us an idea of what to play next (if there's something on your list which we own but haven't played yet for example), or promt us to pick something up which we might not have considered getting before :thumb:
