RTS' are not really my thing, and I have admittedly yet to play the original StarCraft. Something I should probably at least try at some point since I enjoyed WC3.

Regardless, I wish you luck in getting a group together :)

Have they given a firm release date on SC2 yet or is it still sometime in 2010? I am very anxious for this game to release.

It'll be out in a few months, though I'd say sometime around the holiday, or a month or two before.

I'll be playing, but I ain't pre-ordering, so no beta key for me.

If any of you in the beta want to share keys though.... I won't decline.

Never played Starcraft, but I greatly enjoyed Warcraft III. I might have to get this just because it'd be great to be part of an SSX group that's not in an MMO. Though I must say, I am not a fan of how they are making a separate game for each of the three campaigns.

I'll get it, however they have split the game into 3 releases one for each of the races for the single player campaign mode if my information is accurate.

Which is fine, as the other 23 hours of your day will be taken up by the multiplayer anyway, which is of course, all three races, and more or less the reason you buy Starcraft for.

If this results in a more in-depth single player campaign for each race, rather than one quick dose of all three races, then it's completely fine with me. It should be interesting to see if this turns out to be a successful model.

Well as much as I enjoyed Starcraft multiplayer especially when someones Protoss Carrier spam gets eaten by my zerg I actually like playing the single player campaigns. If I want multiplayer that much I play MMO's.

I agree completely. All I can say is that the splitting up stinks awfully to me of trying to fleece customers out of three times the money they should be paying.

Pretty poor move from Blizzard.

May get this eventually, when I have a system to play it on :)
Haven't played the first StarCraft (just WC3) but I like the little bits I've seen of this.

I haven't been following this closely or anything but considering these other two SP campaign releases are being billed as expansion packs I'd hazard a guess that those will be significantly cheaper than the base game itself (which when compared to console games, PC games are usually a hell of a lot cheaper anyway so will be nice for me when I make the switch hehe). If the campaign included with Wings of Liberty is of a decent length as well It may not be so bad at the end of the day. Tis a bit cheeky though heh.

Err, yeah. That's the other thing I was thinking, but neglected to mention. I'm curious about the pricing scheme for them. If the additional 2 races come out as expansion packs, I can justify getting them (provided the original one was decent enough). 3 full blown game prices, on the other hand... Guess I'll have to see what they do on release.

That wasn't Blizzards choice. You can guarantee that decision came from the jackass at the top of Activision. Although Blizzard does support this current model of things as it allows them to focus on some neat aspects of SP, but yeah everyone and their mother agrees that this is a pure money grab. It was stated somewhere that the inevitable follow-ups will be cheaper in the long run. At the end of the day though, I am not worried about all that mess. I just want to know who is in the beta so we can mix it up.

I've been playing the Beta for a little while now. I got my key like a month ago but I haven't racked up a lot of games. The placement match thing is kind of a joke. If you end up going 5-0 during your placement matches no matter what you'll get placed in the highest group (Platinum) even if the guys you were playing weren't good at all. But the game itself is much more beginner friendly than SC1 was multi-player wise. I think it takes an average gamer about two months worth of hardcore SC to get to an average level at the very least. SC2 kinda makes things easier (selecting multiple factory buildings, auto-mining, etc.)

Marauders are probably the most ridiculous unit for the Terrans. They're so strong yet so cost effective. Their concussive shell upgrade is dirt cheap too wow lol.

The Hellion is a fast firebat basically. If they had the same mechanics like the Vulture they would be so good. Overall though I think Terrans will probably be the "hardest" for most people to get good at again, just like SC1. Btw looks like it's your b-day so Happy B-Day Fenavian ^^

According to PC Zone theres going to be an 18 month gap before the Zerg Single player is released. So probaly br touted as a standalone and charged full price. :smack:

From a multi-player standpoint it doesn't really matter (actually for complete newbs it will). But are you serious... the Protoss or the Terran one should be released last. Don't want no zergies running the galaxy keke

I am gonna to defer to Blizzard who said the other SP campaigns are Expansions.. and expansions are usually cheaper.
