but...

Randomly stumbled across the 'Of Gods and Men' trailer. Fan film of Star Trek with LOADS of references (Charlie 7, City on the Edge of Forever, Gary Mitchell, etc). Plus has a load of the actual actors (Koenig = Checkov, Nichols = Uhura, Tuvok, Neelix (though not), etc...).
Well written to explain Sulu's absence in the Gamma Quadrant and Scotty's disappearance (see TNG). Great fan film on minimal budget and ties in nice to the ST storyline (though, much of this does take place in the 'Mirror Mirror' universe).

P.S. Followed a link to a LOST parody combining Star Trek, Lost, BIll and Ted, back to the future... quite amusing and worthwile of 8 minutes or so...

hehe, not a ST fan but I did like the Lost parody, it's just not true :p ^^. (Next episode tonight! <3)

Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

if you liked the trialer you should watch the entire movie. Its pretty good, it was written and directed by former Star Trek actors.

If you like it you can get a "free" copy on DVD (they cant make any money off the movie because of its "fan film" nature) if you buy something from the Renegade Studio store, I bought inalienable which is a movie made by Walter Koenig (Checkov) and it was alright.

WoW! ALOT of recognizable actors are in it.
I have seen simular low budget fan movies before,
but not with this many famous people in it.

Maybe this could give rise to whole new form of fan supported media.
