Initial Impression. is OMG its good ... very good....very very good.

5 hours just disappeared.

I won't go into storyline detail, but the game is awesome,
characters are shades of grey rather than black/white.

The combat moves, although automatic need linking together,
so it isn't a button masher like Oblivion, but also not
completely auto like NWN. Its a nice balance and can lead
to some glorious combos.

They have done wonders with the Bioware graphics engine,
you can have the traditional iso-view, but I've opted for the
over the shoulder approach, so i can only see whats infront of
the character and hence I have been jumped from behind.

NPC AI has been tweaked, so if it rains, they go looking for shelter and
will interact (chat) amongst themselves.

The game has a Mature rating and a 18 stuck on the disc,
i can understand why, not just for the gory graphics but
I believe its mainly for the topics which are being covered
in the quests, so far I've come across a couple of themes
which I've been surprised to see in a computer game.

Sounds very cool Ash.
Good to know the you've been impressed by the game, most of the comments i've read have been very positive as well which is great. Makes me want to play it even more hehe.
I should be playing this too very soon so i'll post my thoughts when i do. :)
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

I'm currently not far from the end of Chapter 2,
there are five chapters in all, but I did hit it fairly hard over
the weekend (advantage of GF being away ... handy coincidence).

Without spoiling anything I would like to suggest to people who
are going to buy this game, ensure you complete all the secondary
quests (ie Notice board quests) you wish to do before
you attempt to complete the storyline quests, as I've had an occasion where the
storyline moved on and prevented me from completing a number
of these (moneymaking) side quests.

I didn't think I'd be interested at all, but wow, game's very good so far. Sort of a "One More Quest Is It Five AM Already?"

I'm just at the reverend at the start of Chapter 1. Pretty cool.

I am prob half way through chapter 2 now and have to say the game is really really good.
Def glad I got this

The over the shoulder view that they added to the standard NWN2 view system is a welcome addition,
though it took me some tweeking to get right,
as it was initially a little over sensitive (well its either that or my Mx518 mouse).

Only hang-ups I have with the game so far is the load times... between... well anything major...
Like any major city, landscape, any tileset that is fairly large.
Its odd too because it is linked to graphical depth settings, but has little to do with FPS.
I can max everything out and the game runs smooth, FPS is completely fine.
The load times however suck. Lets use an inn and a town for an example.
The inn will load in like 20-40 secs.
The town? 50secs to 3 minutes mattering COMPLETELY on graphical depths settings. Add in auto saves, and I could be sitting here for 4 minutes.

So I turned the graphics down to get load times fairly close to a minute, but it stinks that I have to, as the FPS after it loads is smooth as silk either way.

Luckily they are addressing this issue and they said I should see significant load time improvements soon. ::crosses fingers::

Long load times is not a game breaker to me and I have had ZERO crashes or other major bugs soo far,
so should count myself lucky in that respect.

Overall,
The story, feel, gameplay, setting, options, everything = kick@$$
Would def recommend this game (for mature audiences of course ;D )

Took it for a quick spin on a friend's comp. Got to the scene where you choose either to defend the lab or deal with the mage+pet.

Trying my hardest NOT to play anymore so I can focus on school :)

Im abit slow, just got this game, a small treat to myself after just had 2xeyesurgery :p
And what BD said pretty much sums it up
"One More Quest Is It Five AM Already?"

Only come to the Salamander part in the Inn atm.
Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it."

They're releasing a patch in December now I believe to fix a bunch of things and cut the load times.

Also I've played it a second time and this time had sex with about 10 more women.

I've also viewed all of the cards with a bink free player (you will miss some unless you play the game 3 times in 3 different ways), and you can too, it's hard to miss the bink videos, they're in the main folder named as the list below says. Also, here's a compiled list I found of what to do ingame to get them.
cs_sex_abigail1.bik - Abigail. After you've saved Alvin from the salamanders the first time and meet her in the cave next to theirs you'll get the option to have sex with her.
cs_sex_adda1.bik - Adda. Provide her with her favorite food at the feast in the inn in the merchant district of vizima and you'll get the option.
cs_sex_celina1.bik Celina. First time you go to Murky Waters in chapter 4. She's wandering around angry. Give her a good ring and she'll give it up.
cs_sex_citi1.bik - Might be the town gossip of the temple quarters; ask her about the rumors about a witcher until she asks for an item; she wants either gloves or a diamond. Called "poor town folks" in the char list.
cs_sex_citi2.bik Noblewoman (RED) [Merchant (quarters)] - Want monster parts (kikimore claw).
cs_sex_citi3.bik Rozalind Pinkiera [Townsfolk]- Follow Dandelion's lute quest.
cs_sex_citi4.bik Townclerk on the upper floor of the town hall, wants a diamond.
cs_sex_driada1.bik - Dryad in swamp. After asking her about the brick makers missing boy, ask her about where little dryads come from.
cs_sex_elf1 bik Half-elf in temple quarters. Enter the house opposite the warehouse. Talk to the thug there and do the quest. Talk to the half-elf after the fight. Then go visit her again. She's in the house directly across from viveldi(sp?). but you cant get there by just going across the street from viveldi, you have to go around a back way thru the alley. (thanks, sbetchel). Should be visible on the map.
cs_sex_elf2.bik - Elf in cave at Lakeside. Give her some food. Called "Elves of Murky Waters" in the char list.
cs_sex_hooker1.bik - Prostitute in Temple Quarters. Pay her or give her a gift.
cs_sex_hooker2.bik - Courtesan in Merchant Quarters. Pay her or give her a gift.
cs_sex_lady1.bik Lady of the Lake. Chapter 4. Talk to her about her knights, then the hermit. Go back and start talking about a quest, but say you're jesting. You'll do her.
cs_sex_nurse1.bik
cs_sex_rayla1.bik White Rayla. Chapter 5. Pretty much falls into your lap.
cs_sex_rita1.bik- Vesna, the waitress. After saving her from some Salamander thugs and escorting her home, meet her at dusk outside the old mill.
cs_sex_shani1.bik - Shani. After her not so successful party with Dandelion if you give her a red rose (can be gotten in exchange for food from the gardener, if you ask for a story about his mercenary past).
cs_sex_shani2.bik - Shani. If you choose her as guardian for Alvin (she'll want a ring, an Amber Sliver Ring).
cs_sex_toruv1.bik - Toruviel. After saving her in Old Vizima in act 5, and choosing to have some quiet time with her. Must probably choose to side with scoia'tal to get this.
cs_sex_triss1.bik - Triss. After administering her the healing potion in the witcher's stronghold you'll get the option.
cs_sex_triss2.bik - Triss. If you choose her as guardian for Alvin. She'll want a ring with rubies.
cs_sex_vamp1.bik - Vampires in House of the Night if you decide not to turn them over to the knight in the inn in the merchant quarters.
cs_sex_village1.bik People of the Outskirts, aka Flowergirl. Buy some flowers from the herbalist near the inn. Trade them with a whitedressed townswoman near the reverend for tulips. Give tulips to a green dressed, blonde peasant woman. Finito.
cs_sex_village2.bik

This leaves village2 (might be some local of murky waters?) and nurse (I've heard rumors about it being in chapter 5, but noone's bothered to give further instructions). Almost there.
My favorites are Abigail, White Rayla, and the scribe girl in the Town Hall merchant quarters, though the other ones aren't bad at all.
