Groovin SSX weekend. I remember quite a few things and thankfully have forgotten more. Anyway, didn't want to kill too much bw here, so posted some links to some shots.

O3

Phrank, DJ, Ozone, NF, Sprite, Gryph and esd stoking up for the pub run (note DJ is already pissed as he drank 4 Guinesses for a free hat before we met up):

YEah, that's why DJ is wasted in the first photo (and all the ones afterwards). He wanted to show up in a Guiness hat, so while he was waiting for us to show up, he drank a load of em to get it.

i got back to my car, gave it a once over before i headed home and the oil cap is missing... i know it was secure last i checked before heading to manchester, which means that at some point (either birmingham to manchester, or manchester to london) the oil pressure shot up (for whatever reason) and blew the cap. this isnt good news, since it means my engine is getting ready to explode lol.

anyway, i got a new cap from halfords and headed for home with fingers crossed. 80 miles into the trip, i notice the petrol guage is dropping very fast... damn, now ive blown a hose and im leaking petrol. but no, it hits 0 then starts going up, then down, then up... :-/ then the power starts coming through in spurts, without moving my foot on the throttle, my speed is anywhere from 40 - 90 and allways changing.

i was about 300 yards from my house when it finally gave up, which isnt bad since it was a 140 mile trip :-) i pushed it the rest of the way. the car is actually older than me, so its no surprise its not at all well lol

Pages arent loading. TMG must be down :( I'll take a look in the morning.

Sounds like you guys had a great time though, what with esd pulling half the pub to ensure none of you had to actually buy anything. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourselves :)

EDIT - TMG is back up, just seen the pics. LOL @ the esd scaring children one.

Overall they reaffirm the impression that you had a great time. Next time I'll be there :thumb:

I actually had about 6 pints before we met up.
Two in a pub that when I enquired informed me that they had no hats left, so I went to another pub, I didn't get a phone call untill I was half way throigh my 4th pint of guinness.

Me and NF had an interesting time after the pub in Covent Garden.

Me, him, Mess and Mess' wife went to a bar where we drank more, we then went back to Mess' hotel for a bit, tried to get the ssx site working and then left to go back to NF's hotel.
Couldn't find a taxi, and the tricycle guys wanted about 50 to go to Canning Town. We wandered in what we thought was the right direction, ending up in some road off Tottenham Court Road, accosted a radnom Big Issue seller and she said get the 18 bus, pointing us in the general direction (which was back the way we came) and off we went.
We couldn't find the number 18, and then suddenly realised we were back in Leicster Square, where we started.
It was now half four, so we decided, 'Sod this, lets wait for the tubes to open.' So we sat in a cafe (where else in London can you get shown to your seat at 4:30am) and had bagels and tea.
Got on the tube, went to the hotel, slept, then woke up and met the other peeps.
Went to the Spread Eagle and had a pie..... plus more drinkies.

I'm pretty sure that guy and his missus were brother and sister. They were almost identical.

And I have to agree with DJ, it was about half the pub ;)

That makes his statement "I hope she likes 'em cut!" a little worrying....

Well I had a whale of a time even though my liver would probably not agree :) It was great to finally meet up and bring a little SSX chaos to London & Manchester.

Unfortunately my internet connection at work wont let me upload pics so I have emailed them across to Mess so sure he'll be kind enough to post a few linkies when he's recovered from his jet lag ;)

No sign of Gryph on here yet? Either he hasn't recovered or he's still on the bus (I got a text message off him on the saturday afternoon saying he was still on bus and driver was lost so bet he was a happy bunny. Though I'm sure the pictures of him with a handbag will cheer him up. :D )

THINGS ON TOAST!

by Messiah
OMG! Things on Toast! I can not believe I left the UK without having things on toast!

The cheese and beans on toast looked good, but I was really hoping for spaghetti and sausages on toast. I feel certain it would have surpassed cheese pie, beans and chips as the culinary highlight of my trip.

Forward NF's pictures to esd, who said he would post them for us.

Ozone, I think you are holding out on us. I suspect you have more pictures to share, and I am certain I saw you taking some video (especially of esd's circumcision questioning). If you can't publicly post it, please give us all a private link. It shouldn't be missed.

Thanks for posting those esd and mess for passing them on.. :)

seeing as you missed out Mess I spoke with the chef and got the recipe:
Things On Toast

Ingredients
Any Thing (preferably a known foodstuff)
Bread

Directions
Toast some bread until its suitably toasty.
Apply Thing to the toast.
Hope this helps! ;)
