Unicorn get jumped... or were they LOOKING for it?

So, I'm wandering around the Trade District, having just collected a new NCU belt, when a message pops up saying that "Omni-Tec dropships move into the area". Intruiging. So I go looking about, and find a large crowd following what look like perfectly normal Unicorn Specialists... except these ones have names. They're not moving like AI either.

AI don't march up to you and demand to see your ID or token board.

One of them's walking about, scanning things with "a strange looking scanner", while the rest are checking everyone's ID and telling them to move on. So I kept following them, despite being told to bugger off twice. They roamed right accross the Trade District and into the Entertainment District wom-pah. This is where Rho joined me. We continued following, and that's when Manny woke up.

So I go do my fatherly thing, and when I get back, this is what I find in my log as I stand next to a Reclaimation Terminal:

The patrol was hit by an Alien Attack! By the time I made my way back to Entertainment, it was over.

So, I think Omni-Tech are tracking the aliens to a degree. They know where they're coming. Who knows? Maybe it has something to do with Ross...

I have been avoiding downloading this for a while, I have to admit, your reports from the field have me interested.

When I get the replacement keyboard for the laptop, I may be giving this a whirl

As second witness I joined up with esd as they made it to entertainment and after asking a few people for ID they started to wander towards the 20-H whompah and then the aliens hit..

Must admit i stood around for a bit going "duh...." then when I came to my senses I started to attack em. In all about 20 which at first the Unicorns took to pieces and then when it was obvious the players could finish em off Unicorn took their leave (or more intrigingly, possibly died) leaving us to mop out. All aliens were red to my lvl40 keeper and I only got a few hits in as they wouldn't stand still and found myself chasing after em to get in range of my scythe. A few, including this stations brave reporter: esd, went to pixelated heaven but majority survived to loot the alien corpses.

As for whether they were looking for trouble the I'd say definitely. They were looking for someone or something. Perhaps the aliens interceded as they were getting too close...
