Any way to directly download patches, or does it all have to be done through playonline? I keep losing internet connectivity, and am staring at the 4th attempt of playonline to scan all 14 thousand files, and then start the download process it estimates at 6 hours (shortly before losing its connection again).

Frustrating to be sure. Any known work-arounds?

edit: make that 5th scan

Not that I know of nope. We all went through that hell (though for some of us the hell lasts all day, and for some (me) lasted about 1h 45min).

That's pathetic, and so is my isp. Guess that means that my only hope is that it's not re-downloading the same files every time... At this rate it should only take a few weeks, as long as I'm around to hit the reconnect button :smack:

If it is reinitializing my downloads every time, well I'm screwed.

I'm not sure to be honest. Mine went as smooth as it could've gone.

Instalation is the most poorly done aspect of this, imho.

It SHOULD mark files as checked, so it should decrease each time it checks them. I went out and bought the DVD version, far fewer files to check and download. But that's me :)

I do not think there are any externally downloadable patches out there.

Yeah, well I wasn't too fond of the idea of repurchasing something I already own :p .

I guess the seventh time was the charm though. It stopped disconnecting after that and finished up. Yay for small favors.
